Beyond the Therapy Room: A Personal Look Into My Journey Featured in Bold Journey Magazine

As a therapist, I hold sacred the trust that clients place in me. It's an incredible privilege to be invited into someone’s most intimate thoughts, feelings, and experiences. One of the most meaningful aspects of this work is learning about the diverse lives, cultures, and identities of those I support. Every client brings a unique story and every story deserves to be witnessed with care.

At the same time, I recognize that therapy can sometimes feel one-sided. You may be sharing deeply personal aspects of your life with someone you don’t know very well. This dynamic is an intentional part of the therapeutic relationship, structured by boundaries that support healing and create emotional safety. At the same time, knowing a little more about the person you’re working with, your therapist, can also be helpful. That sense of "You see me, and I see you, too" can offer grounding, connection, and reassurance.

That’s why I’m so honored to be featured in Bold Journey Magazine, a platform dedicated to highlighting the personal journeys behind professional roles. In my interview, I share more about my life outside of the therapy room such as my cultural identity, personal challenges, values, and the growth I’ve experienced over the years. It was a powerful opportunity to reflect and connect, and I’m excited to share that with you.

Why This Interview Matters

In my Bold Journey interview, I reflect on the challenges of starting and growing a private practice, how I manage personal and professional boundaries, and what keeps me grounded during times of uncertainty. I talk about the importance of building support systems and the unique experience of being a therapist who is also still navigating their own healing.

One theme I return to often is resilience not just bouncing back, but evolving with intention. I share some of the personal tools and rituals I use to support my emotional well-being, from breathwork to movement, to being in community with others who inspire growth. These practices are woven into the fabric of how I support my clients as well. Integrating the mind, body, and breath into a holistic approach to therapy.

What I Want You to Know

This interview isn't just about me. My hope in sharing my story is that it helps you feel seen, heard, or understood, especially if you’ve ever felt like you’re straddling multiple worlds or carrying stories that don’t easily fit into boxes.

If you're considering therapy or breathwork and want to know more about the person you might be working with, I invite you to read this piece. It's a glimpse into the why behind my work, my values, and the journey that has brought me here.

Bringing the Personal into the Professional

Being a therapist is about more than just tools and training, it’s also about who we are and how we show up. My practice is grounded in compassion, curiosity, and cultural awareness. I work from a trauma-informed, sex-positive, somatic, and client-centered lens, blending traditional psychotherapy with modalities like EMDR and breathwork. I offer individual therapy, couples therapy, sex therapy, EMDR, and breathwork sessions, all through a holistic lens that honors your whole self.

Whether you're navigating intergenerational trauma, exploring identity, seeking to reconnect with your body, or simply needing a space to exhale, you are welcome here.

Final Thoughts

It can be vulnerable to share parts of ourselves whether it’s in therapy, in writing, or even in conversation. And it can also be powerful. I’m grateful to Bold Journey for offering space to share some of the deeper layers of my story and work.
